Food-Alert plan simplified; to source unsold food from participating food industry business i.e., Grocery stores, restaurants, Hotels. It will become a technology platform to make an easier connection to donors with surplus food and their local community food banks or participating partners.
With Food-Alert, we will have easy pickups, simple tracking and convenient receipt recording for any type of donation. Plus, you’ll feel happy knowing you’re reducing food waste while providing hunger relief right in your community.
Local grocery stores, restaurants, hotels and more can use Food-Alert to notify the 4MyCiTy® Food-Alert team when they have food ready for immediate pick up. Every night, our dedicated agents will pick up these unsold foods and quickly redeploy it through local food banks, food pantries or meal programs, making more good food available to our communities and revolutionizing local food rescue.
By partnering with local business and food programs, 4MyCiTy® is hoping to develop ways to rescue more food that would have otherwise gone to waste resulting in feeding more people in need within our local communities. The program also gives donors a convenient, free and safe way to reduce waste through connecting these surplus meals to their food insecure neighbors.

The Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act does a great job protecting companies from liability when donating wholesome food to a nonprofit organization. The 4MyCiTy® team works with many donors, big and small - who understand they don’t need to worry when making donations in their community. 4MyCiTy® is focused on helping to raise awareness about this and our hope is that it will encourage even more food businesses to begin donating their unsold consumable products.
