At 4MyCiTy®, Our focus is on the Importance of Environmental Sustainability. Primarily the Sustainable Management of Food in relation to reducing organic waste. Our program limits the harmful effects caused by organic waste on our environment while improving food security for families within our communities.
4MyCiTy® is recognized as a public charity under Internal Revenue Code section 509(a) and has 501(c)(3) status. 4MyCiTy® is registered in the State of Maryland and run by a volunteer Board of Directors. Donations to 4MyCiTy® are deductible and donors should consult their tax adviser for questions regarding deductions. A copy of the 4MyCiTy® determination letter is available upon request. All donors immediately receive a receipt for their tax records. 4MyCiTy® launched in October 2018, we currently have 6 active employees. Our CEO salary is capped at $70K with no additional bonuses. 4MyCiTy® has an amazing team with the primary focus of helping those in need. Our program is successful because we have thousands of amazing volunteers and partners around the country that we can count on at all times. Our Board of directors all serve voluntarily to advance our initiative.
At 4MyCiTy®, Our focus is on the Importance of Environmental Sustainability, primarily the Sustainable Management of Food in relation to food waste. Our Project was developed to operate around four primary phases that when executed successfully creates a ZERO Waste to ZERO Hunger initiative. Effectively our program is fighting towards ending hunger, while also advancing strategies focused on protecting our planet against the negative effects caused by organic waste. From incorporation back in October of 2018, 4MyCiTy® has distributed over 125 Million pounds of food to families facing hunger, that is an estimated 104 Million meals served.
Phase 1 - Source Reduction: Focuses on Reducing food wastage from the Wholesale and Retail distribution industry.
Phase 2 - Feed the Hungry: Focuses on Eliminating hunger within our communities through effective rescued food distributions.
Phase 3 - Industrial/commercial use: Focuses on creating bio-degradable products or renewable energy through the utilization of food waste.
Phase 4 - Composting: Focuses on reducing the harmful effects of organic waste on our environment through our advanced composting technologies.
A key component of our initiative is on the educational importance of reducing food waste at various stages, with a focus on addressing hunger and the negative effects potential organic waste has on our environment when it reaches landfills and incinerators.
Contributions to 4MyCiTy® will support the organization’s mission in addition to programs consistent with the organization’s core 4 Phases of Sustainability values. 4MyCiTy® is unique in that Our program is 100% volunteer coordinated with only limited operational costs. 100% of our funds are used towards our sustainability efforts. Our Board of Directors are volunteers and we operate with a very limited staff, currently 5 employees. Most of the food distributions are done through our network of volunteer partner sites. We are truly a volunteer driven charity with the focus of putting all dollars raised towards improving the lives within the communities we serve.
